Women in Nepal continue to lack the access to and control over productive assets such as land, finance, or enterprise. These challenges are more severe for women in rural and marginalized communities. Without the access to credit women are deprived of the opportunity, and their right, to escape poverty and financial dependency.

The MCS project aims to promote socio-economic development of women by helping develop autonomous microcredit cooperatives within communities. Such cooperative support programs designed for the women not only aid self-development but also strengthens the nation’s economy. Microcredit helps empower women and provide them with a certain level of financial independence and a possible pathway for prosperity.
The project contributes toward the SDG1 2030 by helping women overcome poverty and gain economic security and independence. By 2030, we hope to have helped every woman in our working areas gain access to microcredit cooperative support for strengthening financial stability.
