21 New Volunteers in September
Volunteers initiative Nepal welcomed 21 new volunteers in September. Among them 1 volunteer were national, 3 were workcamp and 17 were regular volunteers from different nation. After the exit of 61 volunteers in the month of August, VIN volunteer information board looked empty but the new volunteers made it look lively.
All the international volunteers were escorted from airport to Hotel Premium in Thamel on their first day in Nepal. All of the regular volunteers were given 3 days induction. The inductions were scheduled with different sessions like VIN’s overview as organization, Cultural tips, Program orientation, Nepali language, health tips and placement information. The induction also includes a half day sightseeing in two religious and historical places of Kathmandu which will be taking place in 13th September.
With a mix interest of volunteers, VIN placed 5 volunteers in Buddhist Monastery for Teaching English, 3 volunteers for Community Health program, 2 volunteers for Women Empowerment, 3 for photo Journalism, each volunteer for Volunteer Coordinator, Teaching in community school, construction and manual work, and film making ,3 for School infrastructure development (painting and Decoration of School). Volunteer received for Film making is working with VIN for 9 months. She will be delivering classes on Filming Making for three groups of pupils of different age group.
VIN will receive 14 more volunteers for different projects in 15th of September. VIN’s team is very excited to meet new volunteers. VIN has wide range of projects under Community Development program.
