Children’s Summer Camp 2019
Volunteers Initiative Nepal focuses on the mental, physical, social development of the children. With an aim to protect the rights of the children, increase the access to quality education and basic health services, VIN implemented the children development program in the Kavresthali community ie, Children’s Summer Camp.VIN completed it’s four days long children’s camp on 9 July. It was conducted in Kalidevi secondary school, Kavresthali with the involvement of 47 students. The camp was facilitated by 22 international and two local volunteers along with the VIN’s staff.
The main aim of the camp was to increase the participation of the children on activities which could be helpful for their mental, physical and social development. The activities such as arts and crafts, children’s song and dance, origami, English language, collage work, group work, and environmental study. Volunteers and the children were very happy to be involved in the camp.
They were informed about the importance of children’s camp for the overall development of their child. One of the parents stated as,” the leisure time was usually wasted by the children but, this summer camp provided their children with immense opportunity to develop their mental, physical and social growth”.
Lastly, the children honored national, international volunteers and VIN’s staff and praised their work.
