Educational Exposure Visit
ECD program was provided by VIN in Jitpur community from 2007. It includes 9 ECD classes. 6 of them are public school based, 2 are private school based and 1 is community based. VIN helped in maintaining classroom, providing teaching skills, hygienic and entertainment equipment to every class. Moreover VIN organizes educational excursions for the preschool teachers of Jitpur community every year.
This year, 22 participants including the head teachers were visited in different preschools to learn technology of teaching method and managing of teaching materials from ECD centers. It was organized on 17 December in different model school of Kathmandu. The main objectives were to introduce of new curriculum, teaching method ,materials production technique of ECD and to interact about methods and technique of ECD teaching for children’s overall development.
The exposure program were starting from Excelsior high school of Swoyambu, Gyanoaya High school Bafal ,Tilingataar Hiher secondary school of Dhapasi, Triyog high school of Dhapasi and Fluorescent English high school of Baniyataar .
There were visualized of many things and activities. Each primary co-coordinator teachers explained about the school rule for students and teaching techniques and management as well. Teachers had actively participated to share knowledge about the teaching techniques of using rhyme and stories, reading and writing method ,materials production, lession plan developing, child coping skills, materials demonstration and managing skills etc.
The exposure visit was more successful. Throughout the visiting time, we discussed mostly about methods and use of ECD teaching technique and materials for children’s overall development. According to participants, this type of exposure visit is very importance for getting knowledge and implement that technology in their schools. They said that they will really follow all the learning of getting knowledge in their own schools.
All the participants were very much satisfied from this educational exposure visit. Teachers said that time was not sufficient to get detail knowledge of all school teaching techniques. They appreciated about the program and expected for other visit like that out of valley. Teachers gave thanks to VIN for managing the educational visit and choosing the good visiting place as well.
