Food Action Day, 16th October, 2014
On 16th October, VIN celebrated Food Action Day with one of the partner organization working for Orphans. With an action to extend all about the food issues like malnutrition, waste, use of chemical in food planting/processing, eating local, eating healthy, planting and importance of seeds, NVDA, the organizer aimed to spread awareness on food issues, promote organic farming and protect the diversity and integrity of living resources, especially native seeds. VIN took it as an opportunity and organize a program on food action day in an Orphanage home.
VIN managed to raise some money to organize a dinner for the children. As the idea of this action was to bring food for the ones in need, so VIN chose this Orphanage to offer dinner on this day. There were 24 children and 2 caretakers in the orphanage. There were some staff members and volunteers from VIN to help arrange the dinner.
It was a great initiative to celebrate this day. We would like to thank NVDA and Coordinators for sharing this idea and making VIN a part of it. Needless to say, it was rewarding and informative campaign as it talks about food issues.
