Health Trainings in Taluwa
VIN’s international volunteers are raising awareness campaigns, training in first aid and breast cancer in various wards of taluwa VDC. The main focus of these trainings and campaigns is to aware rural people on health, hygiene, sanitation and various types of communicable and non-communicable diseases its symptoms and prevention measures. They conducted hand washing and teeth brushing campaign, first aid training and breast cancer training.
Hand washing and teeth brushing campaign were conducted in all 11 Early Childhood Development centers along with 9 schools of different wards. The students were informed on the importance of hygiene and sanitation, benefits and steps of hand washing and tooth brushing by showing the posters which were developed in both English and Nepali.
Similarly, first aid training was also delivered to the youths. They were taught both theoretically and practically on how to cope with emergency situations like, how to clean a wound, how to treat a burn, a broken bone, how to help a chocking victim, how to response impaled victim etc.
The women also received training on breast cancer. Before this training session they were totally unaware about breast cancer. They were taught various signs and symptoms of breast cancer along with the methods of self exploration and self palpation. The training was conducted in ward 3, 4 and 8.
