International Volunteers for Public Health Program provide Medical Supplies for Kavresthali Health Post
Kavresthali has been the new work site for VIN. Kavresthali covers ward 4, 5 and 6 of Tarkeswore municipality. VIN is starting to implement its programs and projects in the Kavresthali community to improve the life standard of people living in the community. Among the six programs VIN has got, the public health care program is one of the important programs that will be creating a positive impact in the community. With the involvement of VIN’s international volunteers for the public health program, VIN is already into achieving the health goals it has set for the community.
This week itself, VIN conducted a weekly health check-up program in the Kavresthali health post. The program was conducted with involvement VIN’s Program Manager Dr. Laxmi Prassad Ghimire and VIN’s international volunteer for public health program. Marielle, from Philippines has supported medical supplies to Kavresthali health post. She had brought stethoscope, bandages, sterile gauze, face mask, betadine solution, spirit swab and a first aid kit. Dr. Laxmi Prassad Ghimire and Marielle donated those equipment to the health post. Those equipment were received by the nurses from the health post. After receiving the materials they said that these are the most important and useful materials for the clinic and they will be utilizing it for medical care of the people who visit the clinic.
VIN’s public health team works in the health clinic twice a week. The team of international volunteers for the public health program work with medical doctor in the clinic to provide quality medical services for the patients. For this month there are two international volunteers for public health program who will be involved in the health check-up- Brechje and Willanka from Netherlands and an internee, Marielle. They will work in clinic twice a week and in other days they will be in the community for evaluation study of health project in Jitpurphedi.
