Children’s winter camp is a 7 days camp that gives the opportunities for the children to explore their creativity and to socialize. Education in Nepal from primary to university only follows the traditional style education system where children mostly focus on reading, writing and listening and their creativity is not explored .This children’s winter camp welcomed around 59 children from 6 to 14 years age. It is run by national and International volunteers of VIN. Some of the children can have English conversation, and most of them know only english few words.
The volunteers will provide different types of fun and creativity activities such as singing, dancing, painting, origami, games, and also some English and Korean lesson and hygiene tips. It is nice to see all the ideas shared by the International volunteers of VIN. The children are very interested and excited as we saw that they seem to like learning new things, meeting new people and learn about other countries.
This children’s winter camp provided great opportunities for the children to have some time useful and enjoying during their winter vacation where they get the opportunities for them to improve their social, mental and creative development by doing group activities. They can make friends and learn about different new things. It also allows the children to explore their creativity and new learning methods.
