The project was organized at Karkala Devi Basic School and Siddeswor ECD Taluwa from 7 to 17 August, 2017. A group of 16 volunteers worked in the project. Volunteers were divided into 8 groups with two in each group. Among them 6 groups taught children and 2 groups go for painting. Volunteers taught Environment, Sports, English Language, Mathematics, Geography and Health to children from Karkala Devi School. An ECD room at Siddeswor School was painted. Volunteers were changed every day for different roles. On last day, schools organized a farewell program and give thanks to all volunteers and VIN as an organizer.
The project was successful to support schools at Okhaldhunga to develop child friendly environment at school and involve children in active learning methods. It is also proved by the views expressed by school’s principal and teachers. “This kind of project helps us to develop students and school Environment. Students are very happy to have the sessions with volunteers.” Sarita Basnet, School principal, Karkala Devi. “This kind of activity is very much helpful to our students to improve their knowledge.
