Workshop on Environmental issues and practises in Kavresthali
VIN has organized workshop at different sites of Kavresthali in order to know the environmental issues and practices regarding environment protection and conservation. The research has been conducted for four days from 17th – 20th Jan 2017.
A team of environment initiative program, local and international volunteers, visited altogether seven communities of Kavresthali VDC Thumka, Karkithok, Kaure, Thaligaun, Thati, Bhandarigaun and Adhikarigaun. We run a group discussion with the community people in order to find out issues about environment and pollution.

Findings-
Some major sources of environmental pollution of Kavresthali:
- Dusty and muddy roads due to construction
- Plastics being thrown everywhere in surrounding and riverside
- Deforestation for urbanization
- Unmanaged water supply
- Landslide in rainy season
- No proper latrine facility
- Slash and burn practise in some areas
- Some other effects due to natural calamities like earthquake and landslide

Regarding institutional support there is no any record of governmental and non-governmental organization helping them for environmental conservation and awareness program. But in some communities the local women group are running cleanliness program on environmental day. In one of the community named Bhandarigaun, the local health post run cleanliness program once in a month.
